Working in Switzerland, living in France and shopping in Germany: who manages to do that in Basel appears to have it well. Basel, spread over three countries, with a dash of French panache, a dose of German thoroughness and a good chunk of Swiss design (as Jurriaan Teulings put it in words beautifully), is with 43 museums, 15 Michelinstar restaurants and the furniture manufacturer Vitra just a stone’s throw across the border in all aspects a recommended city for a city trip!
