Rome

The history of Rome spans 2500 years. The city has developed throughout history as one of the most important cities of Western culture. It was the capital of the Roman Empire. Today, it is the seat of the Roman Catholic Church and the location of the Vatican City.

As the grand finale of our walking tour from Assisi to Rome we had to see Rome of course. If only to see Rome first and then die, or else because there are many roads leading to it. In top condition from hiking in Umbria, we decided to do everything on foot. Rome is the home of many beautiful things, as it may be known. Ancient Rome, the Colosseum, the Palace of Justice and of course St. Peter’s Square. All very worthwhile to visit.
